Welcome.
United Church of Hyde Park (UCHP) is a tri-denominational faith community (United Church of Christ, Presbyterian Church USA, and United Methodist Church) and service organization that believes, "Love your neighbor as yourself" is the guiding principle by which all faiths are connected. We are multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-generational and socio-economically diverse. We are a small urban congregation, inclusive in every sense. We don't merely promote these values; we live them every day.
United Church of Hyde Park matters. We are a counterculture church that goes against the reality of Sunday morning being the most segregated hour. We are multicultural, multigenerational and socio economically diverse congregation. We associate with the Open and Affirming Coalition, Reconciling Ministries Networks, More Light Presbyterians, and Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches. We provide radical inclusivity and work with LGBTQ+ and allies. We care for our community and we care about what is happening outside our church doors. Borrowing from Booker T Washington, “in all things that are purely social we can be as separate as the fingers, yes ones as the hands in all things essential to mutual progress. We are you ride or die kind of church that is loyal and committed to people and purpose. We are the UNITED Church of Hyde Park located in downtown Hyde Park. Try us out!

Mission Manifesto.
"If you want to go fast, go alone;
if you want to go far, go together." --African Proverb We are the church on the corner. If you visit us any day of the week on our corner you will see homelessness and mental health. You will also see people with little resources supporting one another. As part of our mission we share a warm meal two Saturdays a month with anybody who needs a meal. This practice of hospitality has been going on for more than 20 years. We are still trying to be that church that cares about and responds to what happens in our community.
